Scrimmage!

Tonight's skate practice went from zero to hero in 3 hours! I starting off with the smallest but most horriffic popped blister on my ankle, swerving all over the track, getting a worse lap time than the last 2 attempts. Gah! Not even 4 plasters at once saved me as I just sweated them off in minutes! However all was not lost. In the last hour or so we got our first chance to play a full on, mouthguards in, woman beating jam session wooop! It was seriously the most fun I've ever had standing up.

It was a bit daunting getting up there with girls who look like they've been doing it their whole lives, & I'm sure they were being kind of nice to us as well, but all thoughts of the blister were banished - there is simply too much to think about, not to mention KEEPING YOUR ELBOWS IN! Whoever would have thought that the hardest part of your body to control whilst skating would be your elbows! Anyway, I managed to get control of them for long enough to get one sweet hip check in & send someone flying. That is a feeling I could do with more of in my life.

Finally I managed to get up the confidence to have a go at jamming, I don't think I did too bad, I freaking made it through! And apparently earned 6 points, although to be honest, looking back it's all just a massive blur hehe. So despite earning the title 'Captain Elbows' I would say not a bad night at all.

And just as the icing on the cake we are now officially official. Yay!
