Back To Work...

Well I've been maintaining radio silence for a while now what with xmas & whatnot. I came back & had a peek at my draft posts & they're all rather involved religious offerings so I thought I'd just do a quick new year update on January so far. Then I looked at my calendar & realised that apart from me & Ad reaching a momentous 2 years the only blogworthy thing I've done this month is play in Mods & Blockers. So here it is.

This was our 2nd proper bout as a team & I think it's safe to say some people were rather nervous, not helped by the 2 1/2 hour coach journey for us to analyse the game ahead. We got there with minutes to spare for our four intrepid cherry poppers to get ready & get on the track. They were bloody fantastic as well. It was the first time I've watched any of our team play & it was TENSE. There were 2 on each team as well so I didn't even know who to bloody cheer for, especially when Electron Charge & Nyte Owl were up jamming against each other. I think I speak for everyone when I say we're all bloody proud of them!

So then we were up. I'm not going to go in to masses of detail for those of you who aren't Derby related, but we were really behind at the end of Act I & I for one was feeling pretty rubbish about it. The only think I could think of to do was to set myself 1 goal for Act II which would at least prove to myself that I tried & didn't keep going out there making the same silly mistakes. SO I resolved to spend less time running away at the front & more time helping the Jammer. I think I achieved my goal ok, & as a team we really pulled it back it was super sweet. Even though we lost 89 - 117!

As a wake up call I watech the bout on YouTube yesterday & came up with A LOT of things to work on. Seems like hogging the front isn't my only failiing believe it or not!
